Letter from our Pastor
| Welcome to the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) at Mill Creek
in World Golf Village. While elsewhere on this site you are invited to
read about our history, let me simply welcome you to become part of this
history in the present.
Our Lady of Good Counsel is a relatively new parish in the Catholic
Diocese of Saint Augustine. Having been a mission of Saint Ambrose Church
for many years, in 1998 both parishes began collecting funds in order to
build an expanded facility for this growing community, affectionately
called by the abbreviation "OLGC".
This expansion project was realized in the year 2000, and for the last
eight years our growing Catholic Community has been meeting for communal
Eucharist and other events in a church/hall that has served us well. We
pray, study and feast within the same walls! |

| On July 1, 2008 this community reached a major milestone in that the Diocese erected Our Lady of Good Counsel as an independent parish. I have been appointed the first Pastor of this newly established parish which presently numbers approximately 1200 members within 360 households. |

The OLGC community has been quite active in the development of new ministries. Some of these have been implemented by me as Pastor. Many others were initiated by individual parishioners and their friends who together felt the call of the Spirit to use their gifts -- their
charisms -- for the good of others. In these ventures we have been very blessed, and we presume even more blessings in the future. . . .
Please feel free to review these ministries, a descriptive list of which is found elsewhere on this same parish web site. More importantly, please feel free to ask the Lord's guidance-in-the-Spirit so that you might discern your own talents to be used for the good of others within and beyond this local Body of Christ. It is well possible that you could add a new ministry to the list!
Our Lady of Good Counsel is a welcoming community. It goes without saying that you too are welcomed within it. All we ask is that you be intentional in your membership. That is, that you and your household be committed to join us regularly at our weekly Eucharist.
Since every member of the Body is important for the functioning of the whole, we also ask that you join in our fellowship and ministries to the degree that your talents and schedule allow it.
If you have any questions at all regarding our community, please feel free to call the Church office or speak with me and other parish leaders. Our phone number is in the bulletin which is available weekly at the church. It is also on the home page of this web site.

Might you know the PEACE AND GOOD of the Lord as you join in the Eucharist and other communal events that form us into the Body of Christ which we are called to become.
