The Grounds Beautification
Ministry was created with the express goal of making the OLGC church grounds
more inviting to our parishioners and guests. The circle driveway area in
front of the church and the area on each side of the main church entrance
are where most of our efforts are concentrated. We are constantly weeding
and maintaining this area as well as changing the floral arrangements in the
four pots on a seasonal basis. We initiated a major project to eliminate the
overgrowth near the main entrance to the church, put in roses and easier to
maintain landscape, planted sod inside the circle, installed a paver border
around the inside edge of the circle and planted shrubs in the configuration
of our church initials, ‘OLGC’. Occasionally we are called upon to help
maintain other areas on the church grounds; such as, ‘Mary’s Garden’, the
front entrance sign and some flowers at the rectory.
We are in constant need of new members even those who have little or no
landscaping skills but who want our church to have a welcoming look.
